About Me

Books have been my constant and truest companions. When my mother had cancer and I had to live with my aunt on school days; Nancy Drew helped me make it through. I've cried oceans for my imaginary friends that lived and died between the covers Charlotte, Beth, Primrose and Rue, to name a few. It hasn't always been bleak; there have been many happy dances when happily ever afters were had for Beatrice and Bennedict, Beth and Wrath, and Rachel and Ivy--I knew and loved them all. Books were with me through the good times and bad; from landing the job and finding the love of my life to the darkest of dark days. Books were there when I found my best friends, in fact, books were what we bonded over. Books witnessed me honing my skill as an artist. In short, it's all about the Books.

Biography

My mother was a crafter and one of our favorite games while I was growing up was "How would you do this?" We would find a product either hand-crafted or manufactured and dissect how they did it and how we would do it differently. I'm a fair hand at embroidery and hand sewing. The sewing machine hates me, and the feeling is mutual. I'm learning how to crochet proficiently.
My real skills are in ceramics, drawing, and cooking. I have talent when it comes to painting, but no formal training. I have a two year degree in Ceramics, and focused on glaze creation, firing techniques, and wheel throwing. I had to take drawing classes for my degree, but do it and painting now as hobbies. I cook most days, and as anyone else who cooks frequently can tell you--you either learn to be creative or you go insane.
I help out authors whenever I can as a Beta Reader. I do it to make books better. I love the paranormal, and as I call it "the weird." I read all the time, and have for more than twenty years. I've been reading romances for nineteen of those twenty plus years. I've read most plots multiple times, any books that adds unexpected twists, and has a unique voice or world has my attention.
If a book is done well then it gets added to my favorites.  Douglas Adams, Simon R. Green, and Terry Pratchett are my top three authors and that should tell you all about what I look for in a book--in a word utter insanity.

Disclaimer

I am not Christian. I have no interest in the Young Adult genre or recommending books for young readers. I am an actual adult. My books can have sex without the benefit of marriage, cussing, promiscuity, homosexuality, and violence and I will not raise a stink. Furthermore, if it's not a major saving grace or downfall in the book then I may not even mention it in my review.
All pictures are either of my own creation, copyright free, or from Amazon, if they are from Amazon there is also a link to order the book pictured.
I have been crafting for years and have a library of information on how to do things. The projects I feature are my own, unless otherwise specified. However, by no means am I an expert or the only source on how to do something.
